Our challenge
A world tour from West to East flying close to the equator: more than 40,000 km to cover in 20 days at an average altitude of 6,000 meters!

Today, the adventure must continue with a great epic in the service of environmental protection and renewable energies, designed to create enthusiasm around the climate challenges of the 21st century.
This is the meaning of the SOLAR AIRSHIP ONE project which launches an extraordinary challenge: the first non-stop round-the-world flight without fuel.

Bertrand Piccard
PIONEER IN ITS GENES
Born into a legendary family of explorers and scientists who have conquered the stratosphere and the depths of the oceans, Bertrand Piccard is driven by the same passion.
He made history by achieving two great aeronautical “firsts”, his non-stop round-the-world balloon flight was the longest flight in the history of aviation, both in time and distance.
More recently, his circumnavigation of the globe aboard the Solar Impulse was the apotheosis of his pioneering vision.
Dorine Bourneton
ADVENTURER OF LIFE
The only survivor of a plane crash at the age of 16, Dorine Bourneton found her freedom by flying.
She represents this generation of women who brilliantly overcome the trials of life and come out of all challenges stronger. Her pioneering spirit, her passion for aviation, and her ability to take on any challenge will be assets for the SOLAR AIRSHIP ONE expedition.

Michel Tognini
ASTRONAUT committed
Former French astronaut with the European Space Agency (ESA), who flew 2 space missions (Soyuz and Columbia), Michel Tognini is also Air force fighter pilot, brigadier General and test pilot.
During his space travels, he realized the collective importance of defending our environment.
He will contribute his knowledge of piloting, as well as his experience of life on board in restricted space.

The result of research conducted by EURO AIRSHIP for over 10 years, with the help of a hundred international engineers, and in partnership with CAPGEMINI ENGINEERING, SOLAR AIRSHIP ONE is a jewel of technology, energy efficiency and safety.
Developed by EURO AIRSHIP, this solar airship is able to fly without any noise, without fossil fuel, without carbon emissions, without heavy infrastructure on the ground.
An unprecedented challenge
MORE THAN 25 COUNTRIES CROSSED
With a departure planned during 2026, SOLAR AIRSHIP ONE will fly over more than twenty countries, two oceans and other seas. India, China, Mexico, USA, Mauritania, Mali, France… the countries crossed will have the chance to see the future generation of airships.
